Sanna Nuutinen finished third in Czech Ladies Open, a Ladies European Tour tournament played at Berou Golf Club near Pargue on 28th – 30th August. With -12 she fell five shots behind of the Danish winner, Emily Kristine Pedersen. This result gave Sanna 12,000 euros of prize money, moved her up to the 7th position on ladies European tour rankings and strengthened her position as Finland’s number one player on women’s world rankings.
Sanna was quite satisfied with her tournament week. “Many aspects of my game worked well, but there is still a bit of work to do with my swing. Particularly on Sunday’s front nine I had some problems with the swing. Towards the end I started playing a bit more aggressively and managed to finish the round with two birdies”, Sanna describes the final day of her tournament.
Before the Czech tournament, Sanna was able to test her links skills against some of the word’s top players at Ladies Scottish Open and her first major championship, AIG Women’s Open. She played some excellent rounds but also learned some important lessons. “Being comfortable hitting low cuts would’ve been vital to survive in those wind conditions. Now I know what it’s like and I’m super motivated to keep working on my skills and never stop learning”.
