Great scores from Estonia

Estonian Amateur Open took place 21-23 of May at Estonian Golf and Country Club. Although conditions were tough, SGA players managed to put in some good scores.

AJ Lintunen who has now returned from college placed second with +1 with the winner playing -3. Estonian Carl Hellat placed 6th with an overall +4. Tyko Tuohimaa also in the top ten with +8.

Carl says the conditions were difficult. “The course was in difficult condition. Very wet and soft. I hit the ball fairly well over the 3 days but I just could not make a putt outside 6ft and that cost me the tournament.”

Estonian Match Play Open took place at Pärnu Bay Golf Links last weekend. All of the Estonian SGA boys played a decent qualification round with Mattias Varjun playing -6, Carl Hellat -3, Kevin Jegers and Markus Varjun -1.

From there the boys had to face each other early on. Brothers Mattias and Markus Varjun had a match in the quarterfinals and Mattias was the one going through to semifinals. In the end Mattias Varjun placed fourth.

Kevin Jegers and Carl Hellat played each other in the finals with Carl winning the championship with 2 & 1. This is Carls 3rd time winning the Match Play Championships (2021, 2018, 2017).
